In another move to undermine our constitutional government, President Obama has gutted the welfare reform law passed by Congress under President Clinton (1996).  President Obama’s Health and Human Services Department issued new policy that eliminated the requirement that someone must work as a condition for receiving welfare aid. 

The President is appealing to the dependent class in an effort to win their vote and get himself re-elected.  He has greatly increased welfare spending by adding millions of people to the welfare rolls.  If the majority of the people in the United States are dependent upon the federal government for a check, the Leftists will be able to win all future elections. 

The Heritage Foundation calls this the “Imperial Presidency.”  The President has attacked religious rights, pushed through an unconstitutional mandate to buy health insurance, attacked state laws protecting their borders, attempted to shut down the coal industry and a host other bureaucratic directives to impose his Leftist vision upon America. 
Imperial Presidency indeed, this looks more and more like a tyranny. 

The mainstream media is not a reliable source of information to report on these matters.  You need to visit websites such as the Heritage Foundation to find out what is going on.

If your exclusive source of information on politics comes from cable news or the main-stream media, you are probably receiving a distorted picture of what is happening in American politics.  I regularly listen to National Public Radio, but I balance their liberal slant with other sources of news and commentary. 
 

Here is an excellent source of news.  It is called Morning Bell, and it is produced by the Heritage Foundation.  You can sign up for this to be delivered to your e-mail address.
 

For example, the posting on Tuesday 16^th August was entitled, “Obama’s tour or denial and blame,” by Mike Brownfield.  He provided a helpful summary of our economic situation:

   ■ The “vast majority” of Americans see the economy getting worse.

   ■ 9.1 % unemployment with average during reaching a record high of
      40 weeks.

   ■ Slow economic growth that could produce permanent joblessness. 

   ■ The Obama stimulus of $ 780 billion was promised to create 3.5 million
       jobs by 2010.

   ■ Obamacare was passed which would produce more debt and 2700 pages
      of new regulations.

   ■ $3.22 trillion in new debt.

   ■ “Cash for clunkers” spent $3 billion to help car sales.

   ■ The Union bailout cost $26.1 billion.

   ■ The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform bill and other crushing regulations on
      American enterprise. 

President Obama is currently (August 2011) campaigning to deny these economic realities or shift blame to other people.
